The National Aquarium Santo Domingo  is much more than its 90 colorful fish tanks, its 7 outdoor ponds and large garden. One of the greatest achievements is the  rescue and rehabilitation of endangered aquatic species. This aquarium goes beyond a simple showplace with education, science, releasing copies and reproduction of species.

In the aquarium is home to some 285 species, the most sought after by users … The cat sharks and Pepe and Juanita manatees, the latter rescued and subjected since then to a rehabilitation process, so successful that it has earned the aquarium international recognition.
